The More House
Foundation is the fund raising arm of the Gard'ner Memorial Limited
Charity, registered charity number 311872. It was created to
permanently raise funds for specific projects to improve the resources
of More House School following the success of an inaugural appeal linked
with our Diamond Jubilee celebrations and Her Royal Highness Princess
Alexandra in 2002 opening the Bradbury Multi Activity Centre with Design
and Technology suite. All funds raised by The More House
Foundation are ‘ring fenced’ for specific projects, items of equipment
or bursaries for professional diagnostic assessment.
Working
With More House School
More House School has
no endowment - it relies entirely for its income on fees, which are kept as deliberately low
as possible. Therefore the More House Foundation forms the partner to
further enhance the specialist education provided by the school. In
recent years this has greatly assisted the school to meet the targets of
its development plan, and major projects completed have included the
Bradbury Sixth Form Centre, the Simkins Centre for the Performing Arts,
modernisation of the Science Laboratories by the Wolfson Foundation and
more recently the provision of the Music School with Photographic
Studio, Library and exhibition space. Smaller pockets of funding,
including the Awards for All Big Lottery fund, has further enhanced
various sports facilities and modernised equipment.
The
Future For The Foundation
The Foundation’s next
major objective will be to share our expertise in the wider community by
disseminating our expertise through a new enlarged Learning Development
Centre transcending this in house school LDC department which gives
support and therapy up to a much higher – more national – level.
External Support
The Foundation
continues to express its sincere gratitude to the numerous charitable
trusts, livery companies, the Big Lottery, The Friends of More
House (parents), local organizations and many other friends for
their continued and very generous support.
We are continuing to
seek introductions in order to make approaches to the charitable sector
but should anyone wish to make a donation this can be further enhanced
through the Gift Aid scheme. If you would like to receive any
further information please contact the Foundation Secretary, Mrs. Ella Cattell, through the school office on 01252 792303 or by email:
